1. Working In water allows your heart to work more efficiently without working as hard. 1. The heart has to work overtime to keep up with the body requirements.
2. Water supports the body, limiting chance of falling. Warmth, buoyancy and 3-D support of water provides a safe environment for people prone to falling. 2. If you fall, there is potential for injury from the fall. Air provides no support thus posing a risk of falling.
3. Buoyancy, thermal conductivity and resistance can help you reach your therapy goals. 3. You can only work on specific areas of the body at a time.
4. For back pain, working in the water is more tolerable, with less spinal impact. This applies to all joints making pre-op rehab possible and post-op recovery time faster. 4. Too much impact can cause pain, discomforts and further damage to the spine. Pre-op training can be painful and harmful and land.
5. Moves will help heal injuries. 5. Moves can potentially cause injuries.
6. The body does not hurt after a session. 6. Muscle pain may result, making movement difficult.
7. Minimal to no impact. 7. High impact resulting in injury to joints.

9. If you are unable to stand on land you can stand in water. 9. Inability to stand limits a person to chair or bed type exercises.
10. Each movement offers resistance so you work harder. 10. It is easy to move limbs in the air, so results are harder to achieve.
11. Traction can be achieved in deep water. This leads to decreased pain from stenosis. 11. Because of gravity, there is spinal compression at all times.
12. Turbulence gives you a body massage as you are working. 12. After your exercise class you often need a massage.
